LIFO High-Density Storage Push Back Pallet Racking System with Customized Design

Pushback racking (also referred to as pushback racking) is a pallet storage method that allows pallets to be stored 2 to 6 deep on either side of an aisle, providing a higher storage density than other forms of racking.

There are a number of advantages to using push-back racking. As the pallets come into the aisles, push racking is faster to load and unload than any comparable car racking. In addition, stock turnover and occupancy are greatly increased with push racking as each level can store a different product. Finally, rack damage is greatly reduced as the operator does not need to drive to the rack to remove the pallets.

How does push back pallet racking system work?

A pushback rack system comprises a pair of inclined tracks and a series of nested trolleys running on these tracks. For example, a 4-deep lane would have 3 nested trolleys. The first pallet is loaded onto the top trolley by a forklift truck.

When the operator comes in with the second pallet they push the first pallet backward and place the second pallet on the middle trolley. Similarly, the third pallet pushes the first 2 and rests on the bottom trolley. The operator loads the last pallet by pushing back the first 3 pallets and placing the load on the pair of rails.

The order is reversed when unloading the push-back rack. The rails are angled towards the aisle so that when the operator picks up a pallet resting on the rails and exits, the remaining 3 pallets will follow the front of the aisle. They can then remove each pallet in succession until the aisle is empty.
